At 30 Nov 16:30 UTC, Gnosis Chain started receiving a significant amount of transactions from a number of addresses. After approximately an hour, this resulted in some nodes starting to lag behind the network. As a result, the network started to experience high levels of gossip traffic due to fork blocks, resulting in nodes entering a period of high resource utilization.

On the same day, at 19:36 UTC, Gnosis underwent a successful Bellatrix hardfork upgrade for its Consensus Layer network. After a brief period of intermittent finality, the network reached the 66.6% threshold of participation for finality by 20:05 UTC.

The Nethermind team has released a 1.14.7 hotfix that reduces gossip traffic on the network to alleviate the high resource utilization on Execution Layer nodes.
